Lou & Ann Brunswick award

Starting in 2025, this newly established award will be presented to a team that embodies Lou Brunswick's vision for ACME Baseball: faith, family, and baseball.

The Lou & Ann Brunswick award

At the 2024 ACME State Tournament, we introduced a newly created award to honor the late Lou Brunswick and his wife, Ann for their contributions and dedication to the game of baseball.

ACME Baseball has seen over 80 players advance to professional baseball, and programs continually advance to the OHSAA State tournament, a testament to the quality of play and instruction within our schools and communities.

Starting in 2025, this newly established award will be presented to a team that embodies Lou Brunswick's vision for ACME Baseball: faith, family, and baseball. To win this award, a team must demonstrate exceptional well-roundedness, actively promote and support ACME Baseball on social media, have community members who advocate for ACME Baseball, understand the importance of the ACME mission, and share stories from past players.

As we honor Lou Brunswick's legacy, we also acknowledge the challenges we face as an organization. The landscape of high school athletics has changed, making it more difficult for kids to play multiple sports. Demanding practice schedules can also lead to stress and less enjoyment. Additionally, the rise of travel baseball has become a prominent option, causing small school numbers in NW Ohio ACME to dwindle.

Despite these challenges, ACME aims to find a balance to support our players and communities.

The Lou & Ann Brunswick Award is more than just a recognition; it is a celebration of the values that the Brunswick family hold dear. It is a testament to the enduring spirit of ACME Baseball and a commitment to the future of our players and communities.
